Among other coffees from the region, I was treated to a preview of the
top 3 winners of the Costa Rica Cup of Excellence competition. Thanks to our buddies at
Atlas Coffee (in Ballard, holla!) for hosting in their spankin new Lab, complete with 5-barrel sample roaster (I bet Keith would give his left... arm... for one of those) and ample space to chat, cup, and wish we had made our cupping room just a
little bit bigger. Is that cupping envy? Regardless, the company present made for an entertaining and extended exploration of what Costa Rica has to offer these days. Can't wait til we get our own CR COE samples in! -LD
