So, we've been waiting, watching, listening... and we have finally confirmed the presence of a couple bags of Yemen coffee on a pallet that's due to arrive tomorrow.  It's exciting news, especially since I can't remember having received Arabian coffee in recent history here at Victrola. Speaking of history, that's why Yemen is so interesting.  The port of Mokha (in present day Yemen) was the first major international trade center (going back to the 6th century) of coffee.  Much of Yemeni coffee is stored in caves before export, and there's a crazy system of middlemen that rivals the chaotic DIY merchant style of the Middle Ages.  It's amazing that coffee even gets out of there, but it does, and we'll have some!  Get ready for something different.
