More than fifty years ago, Mr. José Alejandro began his journey in coffee farming. In the early days, he owned a large piece of land, but over time, he chose to sell and donate portions of it to benefit his community—providing space for the local school, recreational areas, and even the church.
Today, the farm spans 23 hectares, with 4 hectares dedicated to coffee production and the rest preserved as natural forest. A freshwater spring rises in the upper part of the property and flows through the forest, providing a vital resource for wildlife and for processing the farm’s coffee.
The farm is now led by José’s son, Humberto Gómez, a survivor of his country’s armed conflict. Humberto continues his father’s legacy with a deep commitment to both quality and sustainability. Under his leadership, the farm has installed a new wet mill and drying facility, increasing capacity and improving efficiency. Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Humberto is constantly seeking new ways to refine their coffee and protect the environment.
A true coffee lover, dreamer, and adventurer, Humberto has taken on new challenges experimenting with a Pink Bourbon (Rosado Bourbon) varietal. The result is a unique coffee with delicate notes of dried red fruits and a refined, aromatic profile.
In addition, Humberto and his team carefully planned a long, controlled fermentation for their washed Castillo and Caturra coffees, aiming to create a cup that is fruity, complex, and full-bodied.
With each harvest, the Gómez family continues to honor their heritage—producing exceptional coffee that reflects both their dedication to craft and their love for the land.
