We’ve been fortunate to have had a wonderful relationship with producer-owned cooperative exporter KCCE for a number of years. KCCE, an acronym for Kenya Cooperative Coffee Exporters, was established in 2009 with the purpose of connecting Kenyan farmers with international buyers. A year or two after they were established we had the pleasure of cupping their coffees for the first time--and have been regularly featuring coffees they represent ever since.
Over the years we’ve been fortunate enough to develop direct relationships through KCCE with a few producers of our favorite lots. This coffee, from the Kiaga Factory, is a new one for us and we are so happy to share it with you. Kiaga is part of the Othaya Farmers’ Cooperative Society, one of the most renowned and respected producers in Kenya.
The Kiaga Wet Mill is situated in Gathanji Village between the Rutene and Rwarai Rivers and represents about 544 members growing coffee on 104.3 acres.
