Roaster’s Notes:

This awesome lot comes from Finca Los Dos Socios in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The farm’s name, which is translated as “the two partners, is owned and operated by Concepción Villatoro Matias and his son. The Villatoros purchased the farm in 1990, and have been farming coffee continuously at the site ever since.

Villatoro is known in his community for being a stickler for excellent farming and harvesting practices--always ensuring that his workers to pick only the ripest cherries, and meticulously sorting the beans at several stages throughout the process. This attention to detail is most definitely evident in the cup.

In the dry aroma you’ll notice a forward rye bread, followed by notes of lemon and orange citrus. It then finishes with a light vanilla fragrance. You’ll find that this coffee has a mellow but round body, the acidity is reminiscent of a fresh pear. Dos Socios finishes with a richly pleasant cashew note as it calmly disappears from your palate.
