Indonesia is a large chain of 17,000 islands that is wider than the continental United States. With 289 million people, Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world. We were introduced to BELIFT Green through our friends at Falcon Specialty. Ivan, one of the owners of BELIFT, and Jake our green coee buyer met while he was visiting Seattle after SCA EXPO 2023. Through that meeting we started cupping through BELIFT’s coees and decided upon this 72hr Super Washed. What makes it a Super Washed process? The cherries are picked, rinsed and sorted for density & color. In anaerobic tanks the cherries are fermented for 3 days, then depulped, and traditionally washed and dried. This extra period of fermentation gives this coee a special level of clarity in the cup and an extra level of intrigue with a great name!
