
This bright and snappy medium- bodied coffee is from the Monserrate community , nestled high in the mountains of the Huila growing region. We have purchased coffee from this community for a number of years. The Monserrate community is home to an innovative project that has led to both exceptionally produced coffees and to greater control and income for the farmers. Years ago, producers used to sell their harvested cherries to middlemen. Now, with their own wet mills the farmers have more control over their final product. Each year the community produces a number of exceptional micro-lots. This year we purchased coffee from Yaneth Gill She produced a popular micro -lot we had on our menu two years ago and in 2008, she produced our Head Roaster/ Coffee Buyer’s favorite micro-lot from the Mejor de Monserrate (Best of Monserrate) competition.
